Between football games, Deb and I are having some R&R down in Virginia Beach (yes it is in Virginia). We have been here 5 times now but the first time in the off season right after Labour Day and without the kids. It is kind of weird to be here without the kids but we are trying to have a good time nonetheless....lol.The beach is one of the nicest we have ever found. There is a 3 mile boardwalk, a pier and as you can see a large statute of Neptune. The statute is pretty impressive rising some 34 feet off the beach by the boardwalk.
For those of you who go to Myrtle Beach or Florida you may want to consider coming here. It is closer (11 hours from Burlington). There is something for everyone: a naval base, an air base, and nice and friendly folk.
