The sound of freedom

One of the things that the Virginia area has that we Canuks don't experience, is a large military presence. The Oceania Naval Air base is here and not far away is the Norfolk Naval Base, one of the largest in the world. On any day you see aircraft carriers, jets and other assorted military gear flying, sailing and making much noise.

This morning I caught sight of two helicopters flying in form the ocean going over the hotels on the strip. They make quite a bit of noise but nothing compared to the F16's roaring overhead.

The locals call the noise they all make- the sound of freedom.
