People on Cruises

Days 4 and 5 were sea days. We did not get off the ship. The weather was a bit overcast and definitely cooler now that we are well south of Santiago.

You see and meet many different places when you are on a cruise. There are Americans of course, Spaniards, English, Austrians, a few Aussies (there is always one somewhere), Chileans and Brazilians on summer holidays.

Deb and I signed up for anytime dinning which means that we show up at the dinning room anytime between 5 and 9:30 and get seated. We have meet some very nice and interesting people at the dinner tables. Tonight we dined with a Colonel from the US Air Force (now living in Arkansas) who flew Mustangs out of England in World War II. Our other guests were George and Miriam from Ogden Utah. The other night was Rod and Nancy from Albuquerque New Mexico and Heinz and his wife (never did catch her name) from Austria. Everyone is very nice and you learn about where they are from and a bit about them themselves. Rod and Nancy are particularly warm and decent folks. Rod has a genuine curiosity about almost everything and knows much about Canada. You will run into these folks occasionally but the ship is large and you usually never see them again.
