Scrimmage at U of Guelph

(August 25, 2007) -- Ownership of two CCFL teams were on hand at the University of Guelph today, as the teams scoutedpotential 2011 first round pick, Joey Nemet. Nemet participated in a controlled scrimmage between his McMaster Marauders and the U of G Gryphons.Nemet, a freshman running back, performed well in his first action with McMaster. Despite nursing a tender hamstring, Nemet ran the ball with authority, breaking one between the tackles run for 10 yards.Ownership of the Golden Domers and Northern Pike were both on hand watching Nemet."He's clearly got potential," Northern Pike GM Red "Fish Head" Marlin said to Pike ownership. "I can see him having afuture in fantasy football."Friends and family of Nemet were on hand in the stands, including his proud parents, sister, grandparents, girlfriend and other friends.Regrettably the scrimmage between McMaster and Guelph was called early on account of thunderstorms, much to the reliefof U of G spotters who were standing on a raised metal platform some 50 feet in the air.McMaster next sees action as they kick-off the season next weekend at Wilford Laurier.
